Carrefour transforms SAP operations with MIGNOW's AI
Carrefour accelerated its SAP transformation with MIGNOW's AI, reducing risks and modernizing large-scale operations.

With an innovative DNA and an increasing focus on digital transformation, the Carrefour Group was founded with the purpose of bringing the latest innovations, with efficiency, cost-effectiveness, discipline, quality, agility, and creating a better quality of life for all customers worldwide. With over 70,000 employees, it is Brazil's largest food retail group, serving over 498 stores nationwide. Aligned with this philosophy, the group updated its operations to SAP S/4HANA using MIGNOW software.
“As market leaders, we want to work alongside our suppliers, consumers, and society to create practices that can improve people's quality of life and the planet's sustainability.” Carrefour.
And MIGNOW is now part of this mission!
“It's extraordinary to help Carrefour with its Digital Transformation process, where, through our innovation, we ensure SAP S/4HANA updates are always on the latest version provided by SAP. This continuous update process is the true ‘open doors’ to innovation for customers.”, concludes Guilherme Joventino, co-founder of Mignow.

.02 DETAILS
This highly complex project was completed in a record three and a half months.
With the implementation, Carrefour gained new functionalities, agility, and improved execution of company processes. With the new ERP, the retailer controls assets and office supplies, as well as the number of sales made, with the ability to cross-reference relevant information in the Cloud.
“With SAP S/4HANA, we perform accounting and receive input from sales processed in generating invoices for our Marketplace partners. This feature provides recommendations based on a company's historical data.”, comments Paulo Henrique Farroco, CIO of Carrefour Brazil
And furthermore, “The implementation brought more reliability and greater support for Carrefour's volumes, as well as modernizing the back-office environment. Furthermore, the system prepares Carrefour for future growth through the Rise with SAP offering.”, adds Jackson Borges, Vice President of Strategic Industries at SAP Brazil.
Another HUGE and successful project for MIGNOW. A case that secured the prestigious SAP INNOVATION AWARDS 2022!

SAP Innovation Awards 2022
The SAP Innovation Awards is an SAP award that honors and celebrates the achievements of forward-thinking companies and individuals who have leveraged the power of the latest SAP products and technologies to revolutionize industries, help the world run better, and improve people's lives.
The judges selected 25 winners from hundreds of inspiring innovation stories and among major market players, and among all these incredible participants MIGNOW WON THE CATEGORY “Digital Transformation on Rise with SAP” through the Carrefour case study.
But what did we do that was so incredible to win such a coveted award? Basically, the complete digital transformation of Brazil's largest retailer, as seen above, using Rise With SAP resources, which consequently ensured:
- Reduction in system operating costs by 30% (using SAP BTP).
- Reduction in Carrefour's energy consumption by 45% through cloud hosting.
- In addition to an increase in end-user productivity by up to 64% with the new Fiori interfaces.
Result achieved:
The new ERP covers all Carrefour processes, from sourcing, risk management, and logistics, through back-office processes (financial, accounting, and tax) to operational processes. Furthermore, the migration enables stores to forecast product purchase quantities (increase or decrease). With increased robustness and rapid sales order analysis through SAP S/4HANA, the retailer anticipates an increase in company profitability.
“Within 3.5 months, we successfully moved our SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and began improvements in our operations. With SAP S/4HANA, we are able to deliver and enhance several new functionalities and technologies to our business.” Carrefour.
In addition, the benefits package can be scaled by segment, as shown below.
Business or Social
- Increased sales and buyer engagement with personalized offers, after building a recommendation engine.
- 45% reduction in energy consumption by migrating from on-premise data centers to the cloud.
- Reduced service disruption for buyers or employees, with migration between on-premise applications.
IT
- By migrating to Google Cloud, we achieved a 30% reduction in operating costs.
- Acceleration of release processes, new technologies, and processes.
Human Empowerment
- Increased productivity
Fiori interfaces are easier to use than previous SAP UIs, thus enabling more productive work. With simpler menus and tiles, as well as fewer clicks, Fiori can reduce time spent on tasks by up to 64%.
- More intuitive workflow
Fiori-designed UIs present business logic instead of SAP logic. This makes them more intuitive for the vast majority of information workers.
- Enhanced mobility
With its mouse and keyboard structure, SAP GUI was not suitable for mobile use. The shift to Fiori offers advantages for employees' mobile devices. Fiori's simple interface allows users to work with touchscreens. The consistent UI behavior and design provide a similar experience regardless of the device. Saving substantial time in the activities performed.
In addition, we also achieved the following results:
- 40% Reduction in operational costs.
- 5x Faster speed to deploy new functionality.
- 30% More agility for end-user enablement.
“By moving to the cloud, we managed to reduce our operational costs by 30%, and that's just the beginning. As we continue to implement best practices and adapt our operations to the cloud, we will be able to further reduce our costs in the future.” Carrefour.
Carrefour soared high alongside Mignow; the partnership was fundamental in ensuring the expected timeline and cost. We are grateful to everyone who made this project a SUCCESS and helped us make the SAP Innovation Awards victory possible.
