Eternit, one of Brazil's leading civil construction companies, has just completed its SAP S/4HANA conversion journey with a robust, automated, and highly complex project. The migration involved collaboration with Seidor, Mignow — a leader in SAP conversion automation — and AWS, which provided the cloud infrastructure to ensure security, scalability, and performance for the transition.

The project spanned 11 months, involved reviewing over 2,000 customized objects, and achieved an automation rate of 92.71%, ensuring greater speed and less rework. Eternit operates with an SAP base of 2TB, and is now officially ready for the future.

A migration that goes beyond technical aspects

The move to SAP S/4HANA was not merely about system updates; it is part of a larger strategic initiative, as highlighted by Eternit's Head of IT, Luciano Santana, in an interview with Portal ERP:

“This migration is essential for our digital transformation, enabling greater efficiency in data analysis and process optimization. As a result, we expect to reduce costs and unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth.”

This vision is also shared by Mignow. “The most important thing is that Eternit understood that the migration is just the beginning,” comments Guilherme Joventino, Mignow's COO. “Now they can explore the full potential of S/4HANA with more data, more control, and more innovation.”

For Rodrigo Brunetti, Mignow's Delivery Executive, this project reinforces the company's expertise in leading complex transformations with excellence. “Completing the migration on schedule, with over 90% automation, underscores the company's commitment to solid, secure, and scalable deliveries.”

The importance and advantages of Rise with SAP

With a large installed base, a lean team, and a strong demand for operational continuity, the choice of Mignow and AWS proved to be spot-on. Mignow's automation reduced manual effort, and AWS's infrastructure ensured the resilience and agility needed for a seamless go-live.

“We know that transforming an SAP legacy isn't just about technology; it's about people, quick decisions, and precise partnerships,” comments Paulo Secco, Mignow's CEO.

In this regard, Eternit's decision to invest in a Rise With SAP project reinforces the company's commitment to innovation and streamlines its journey towards a clean core.

Results that pave the way for the next step

A project of this magnitude yields both short-term and long-term results, and Eternit is already reaping tangible benefits. Some of these include:

  • Enhanced governance and compliance
  • Integrated and more agile processes
  • Solid foundation for adopting new solutions in cloud, BTP, and AI
  • Significant reduction in risks and rework

“The new platform positions us more competitively in the market, providing a solid foundation to face future challenges and explore new possibilities in our business,” emphasized Carisa Portela, Eternit's CFO, in an interview with TI Inside.
